Solution exchange equation:

                           dx/dt = -(k/V) . x

Whose solution is:

X(t) = Xf - (Xf - Xi) . exp(-(k/V) . t)

Equation describing the time course of a solution exchange when V is a constant volume and k a constant flow rate of a solution of concentration Xf exchanging for solution of concentration Xi. Solving for t gives the time it takes to go from concentration Xi to Xf
